Spiritual Formation
Students meet weekly in small groups or with mentors for times of worship, prayer, intercession as well as for encouragement and accountability. Worship leaders are multi-cultural and multi-denominational to expose students to the diversity within Christianity.
Our spiritual formation activities include participation in a House of Prayer run by our staff in the urban neighborhood where we serve during our practicum experience. The purpose is to pray for spiritual transformation to take place among the poor and needy in our community while lifting up the name of Jesus, bringing light to the darkness.
We also have a time of intercession for the nations each week as we pray “around the globe” during the course of the year of INSIGHT. We pray for specific nations that we are studying, for current events, and for the nations within our midst in the U.S. Students have a weekly restful worship time in our chapel and a winter retreat after Christmas break. Reflective contemplative journaling is encouraged as a form of devotional worship.
